Local sustainability group, Transition Chichester is concerned with promoting greener living within the Chichester area and looks at a number of aspects of everyday living including food, energy and biodiversity. Established in 2008, the organisation has gone from strength to strength and now runs over 10 exciting projects, hosts a monthly Green Tea and Green Drinks meet up, a monthly Eco Cinema, quarterly Swap Shops and an annual Green Fair.

Other Activities: Members of Transition Chichester’s exciting horticulture initiative “Grow Chichester” will be on site at the Oaklands Park community orchard (and flowering pictorial meadow) to discuss the projects which are taking place in Bishops Palace Gardens, Oaklands Park and at Whyke. They will be chatting about growing your own, social therapeutic horticulture and the importance of local food. Tours will also take place around the 35-tree community orchard and into the Oaklands Park community garden, established in Spring 2014, throughout the day.
